1. how old are you ?

26.

2. How & why zulu as kono ?

Because it was the right time and we needed something to do. Zulu as Kono is the vehicle to get our ideas out to the world.

3. What do you do in your lifes - zulu is yr principal outlet ?

I am a screenprinter by trade. Zulu as Kono is the principal creative outlet for musical ideas.

4. You have a 7" & few shows with SICBAY... can you tell us your meeting & your way to appreciate them ?

We met Nick(Sakes) the first time we played in Minneapolis. After this meeting we played with Colossamite in Austin and have gone back to Minneapolis a couple of times. We communicate thru e-mail off and on. I appreciate Sicbay, not only because they are excellent musicians who write music that I like, but they're also good guys.

5. Your second album is over now ? Where do you want to go (musically) if you know...

Our second album is out. As far as our direction musically we'll continue tomove forward doing different things not confining ourselves to a certain sound or something the listener expects.

6. What do you think of music industry in the usa ?

I don't think of the music industry in America. If you want to make the music we make you have to pretty much do everything yourself. If somebody comes along and wants to champion the cause then great.

7. Are There a lot of places to play for your style of music ?

We've toured quite extensively the last two years and have found that yes there are alot of places to play our music and most of the greatest, most appreciative places to play are small towns that want to get a little crazy and have some fun.

8. Do you already have problems with the audiences ?

We have no problems w/ the audiences. They are very receptive. They seem to be listening and responding positively most everywhere we go.

9. What do you think of the success of your neighbour At The Drive in (el paso) all over the world...

Other people's success is good for them. As far as me thinking of it, I think it must be neat-o to have someone else, some other financial entity, help put out records, book the tours, etc. So that all the band has to do is concentrate on the music, but other than that good for them. It must be nice. I've seen their posters everywhere, but don't think that I've heard them.

10. You live in Texas (austin?), a place sadly known in europe for its racism, kkk & its reactionnary side ... how do you live that ?

Racism is everywhere, not just Texas.

11 . Texas is the place G.W. BUSH manages... what do you think of capital punishment ... And texans in general ?

It's unfortunate that people kill people. It's even more unfortunate when an innocent man is put to death for a crime he didn't commit.

Texans are Texans.

12 . How do you live these presidential elections... are you interested by that ?

I voted for Ralph Nader. George W. Bush had already won Texas before the election started. Iwanted Nader to get the 5% popular vote so maybe he could get the federal funding needed to compete with the scumbags in Washington D.C.

13. Yr future project ? (musically or not)

More recording and touring.

14. Last questions concerning yr new 'artistic' discover these times...

Huh?

15. ZULU will be soon in europe ?

Hopefully Zulu as Kono will tour Europe. That's definitely a goal and with the folks we have met thru the Internet and the more we get the word out the more feasible this will become.

Thank You.

Aside from question 11, I understood them all.
